28-30 March 2017

At the State visit to Denmark on 28, 29 and 30 March 2017, the rectors of five universities and the authorities of ICHEC Brussels Management School, FRS-FNRS, ARES and WBCampus accompanied the Sovereigns  and Belgian Ministers with the aim of strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and Denmark.

This mission was a unique opportunity to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation through the development of privileged partnerships in education, research and innovation.

With the support of WBCampus and ARES, about ten representatives of our higher education institutions took part in the State visit to Denmark, particularly in academic activities:

On the first day of the mission, mutual presentations of the landscapes of higher education and research were organized in parallel with the official program. This meeting took place at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Niels Bohr Institute (University of Copenhagen) was visited.

On the 29th of March, after a morning visit to the Sky Lab at the Technical University of Denmark's (DTU), three roundtables on the social and inclusive character of higher education took place. These roundtables also helped to address the Sustainable Development Goals as defined by the United Nations. A lunch was organized at the Royal Palace Frederik VIII in the presence of HM the Queen of the Belgians, the Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and the Ministers-Presidents R. Demotte and O. Paasch. The conclusions of the roundtables were presented at this lunch.
