This year at Cannes, three animated films benefited from the expertise of Belgian studios: 👉 In Waves (Critics’ Week) 👉 Jim Queen (Midnight Screening) 👉 Le Corset (Un Certain Regard)

Behind these projects are renowned studios — Aromates (Liège), Waooh! (Liège) and Enclume Animation (Brussels) — involved in key stages from compositing to post-production.

Beyond technical performance, another point is worth highlighting 👇

🎓 These talents largely come from higher education institutions of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, known for the quality and high standards of their training.

💡 For example, Enclume Animation was founded by former students of ENSAV La Cambre, a school that has been training some of the industry’s most skilled creators for decades.

More broadly, institutions such as La Cambre, INSAS and HEAJ (Haute École Albert Jacquard) continue to nourish this unique creative ecosystem.

🌱 The result: a new generation of professionals able to combine technical mastery with artistic sensitivity — as illustrated by the delicate work on Le Corset, where watercolour and digital animation blend seamlessly.

At a time when artificial intelligence is transforming creative professions, this international recognition highlights one essential point:

👉 artistic excellence also relies on education, transmission, and the human touch.

👏 Congratulations to all the talents trained in the Wallonia-Brussels Federationwho continue to make our animation shine far beyond our borders!
