The University of Mons (UMons) provided scientific coordination for the new Apulian SpaceLab research centre, which opened last June in the Puglia region of Italy. This laboratory is entirely dedicated to studying the effects of microgravity on the human body.
The result of three years of collaboration and expertise, this project was made possible thanks to the commitment of UMons and brilliant Belgian scientists. It is at the forefront of international research and also aims to attract private aerospace companies, confirming the key role of our researchers in strategic areas of the future.
This success illustrates the quality and influence of higher education and research in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, whose expertise is recognised and sought after internationally.
