To achieve a Master’s degree in Belgium, you need to complete the 2nd cycle studies of at least 60 ECTS credits, or 120 ECTS credits if pursuing a specific aim.
Depending on your interests and professional goals, there are two different types of Master’s degree in Belgium:
- The Master’s degree that takes you into a profession right after completion.
- The advanced Master’s degree, which allows you to complete your Master’s degree first and then trains you specifically for a chosen area. This requires at least 60 ECTS credits.
Some of these advanced Master’s degrees are obtained through the joint participation in different higher education institutions.
